Strong Latency on S6
Hi,
I'd like to report a strong latency on one of our customer's S6. WS : 2x player, 1x recorder Player 1: Mac Pro Late 2013 10.11.5 Pro tools 12.6.1 HDX 1 Connected to MTRX Port 1 (digi) Player 2: same as 1 but HDX 2 Connected to MTRX Port 2 (digi) Recorder : Mac Pro 5,1 10.11.5 Pro tools 12.6.1 HD Native Connected to an HD Madi S6 v3.7 M40 32 faders They are using the 1st ethernet port of each mac for eucon and MTRX communication and the 2nd port for screen sharing, satellite link. They are using the 1st port of the M40 and its DHCP server. I notice a strong latency with their S6 particulary when using the satellite link. But when it's disable, We can still have like 5sec of latency before the S6 respond. It happens for practically every tasks ; recalling layouts, expand plug-ins, play, write automation etc... It's really annoying... I had this type of problem the first week after installing their S6 and it was corrected after changing the switch to a new one identical. They're using a 24 switch supplied by Avid (D-link) and it is fully populated. Could it be a problem ? If I use two switch with a bone beetwen them, does this could solve the problem ? Do you think we could damage the switch in any way ? Thank's for your answer, Best regardsn Herge |
