Question: Broadcasting Layout and Levels
Hello Guys,
Have you ever received this kind of Request from a client? For a TV Broadcast. Audio configuration Ch1 – Full Mix (Narration, Music, Effects, Interviews); Ch2 – Interviews (Dialogue/VO and Narration; Ch3 – M&E (Music and Effects); Ch4 – M&E. (Music and Effects). Tone at -20db. Audio levels between -12db and -14db. I had to Reroute and Remix All for a mono Fullmix, which I find really strange. And The Audio Levels are totally not clear. It's the average I suspect, He's not asking me to limit all at -12 and to have 2db of dynamic range??? |

Re: Question: Broadcasting Layout and Levels
That is a confused spec. If it was me, I'd ask for clarification. If you don't get it, mix to -24LUFS. But the mono mixes on 1+2 are an oddball thing to ask for. And the levels don't make sense unless you were making a screaming hot web mix.

Re: Question: Broadcasting Layout and Levels
Yeah, Well...
the explanation came back, Nothing cleared though... (it was funny none the less... ) First mix I made was -20LUFS Peaking at -3 Which I thought was more Then enough. And for web I'd go for -16LUFS. But What they're asking here;May be they're flatting it hard, to put in the news paper! |
