Akai S6000 - urgent help required please

OK I've asked some pretty dumb questions about this unit and apologise for a previous thread. Thank you for the reply I did get!

I have the chance to buy a second hand unit (it's not going to hang around) at a very respectable price, but it is one of the very first released models i.e. January 1999.

(1) Does this model differ in any way to the current or is it just a software thing, . . .

(2) . . . in which case I assume I can download updates for this machine with no problems?.

(3) Is there anything I need to be aware of.

It's just a software thing....upgrade to 2.0.

Hi!

It's true that the USB interface is quite slow, so don't even think of using it as a main data channel.
What I find it useful for is making compilations of my sound library and saving it on a CD rom.

I intend to do it with the computer, . . . I hear the new USB interface is in short supply though at the moment. I hear it's slow, but that kind of interface has surely got to be worth it.
