Default Eleven Rack Ableton Help

Hello all,

I am currently trying to get my eleven rack to work with ableton. I have the ableton program set up to output sound to 1/2 in the eleven rack through ASIO. However on the eleven rack it is only outputting the sound from ableton through the front headphone jack and not through the mains on the back to my monitors. Can anyone help with this problem?

Thanks

Do you get any sound from the 11R to the main outs? Like when you are using it standalone, without the DAW, do you hear your guitar sound through the monitors?

If not, make sure you have the Volume Control in settings set to Main Outputs.

The headphone outs mirror the main outs. There is also a setting to offset the headphone volume from the mains volume, but let's see if you get any sound out of your 11R mains first.

I figured out that problem, however I am now getting a BSOD every 30 minutes or so. Any idea what could be wrong?

Way more info expected here if you are asking for help. Including exact OS version, exact driver version and a SiSoft Sandra report, etc. See what is expected from you under the "Help Us Help You" link up the top of each DUC web page.

Yes your system is sick. It may be but is likely not the Eleven Rack hardware.

Make sure systems optimization are done for Pro Tools (yes I know you are not using Pro Tools)... also under that "Help Us Help You" link. Especially system sleep/suspend is disabled (and you don't allow the computer to sleep/suspend manually when the Eleven Rack is ever attached and powered on... including suspending your laptop when you close the lid (just a guess....but uh), and USB Power management is disabled).

Make sure you are not concurrently trying to use the Eleven Rack with Ableton and some other program or as a Windows system sound device.... that can cause all sorts of problems, but not usually this crash.

If still having problems (and I expect you will) you should uninstall and reinstall the latest Eleven Rack driver compatible with your OS.

Try different USB ports.

If that does still not solve issues then I would do a clean test install of your OS on a spare drive or partition and just install the Eleven Rack driver and see if the Eleven Rack works reliably as a system sound device, then install Ableton and test if that works OK. If all that testing fails it likely points to hardware problems on your computer, or less likely in the Eleven Rack, but you can also test the Eleven Rack on another computer. If that test does work then you have a corrupted Windows install and you should reinstall everything on that new drive/partition you are testing with, or try recovering from a backup. Make sure you have full backups of your current drives/partitions before doing this as it's easy to make a mistake and wipe your current stuff.

Okay all of this is now done. Most of it was already configured properly. I never let the computer sleep or close the lid.

The only thing using the Eleven Rack is Ableton.

I'm working on getting the Sandra report and other info now. Thanks for the help.

I am on eleven rack driver 1.1.11

The OS part was not included in the Sandra report but I assume it is Windows 7 and do compatible with the driver.

Nothing else stands out so I would keep going down the troubleshooting list I have earlier.

Not relevant but uh those 5,400 rpm drives... striping those is like putting lipstick on a pig. If you do end up reinstalling Windows I would take that opportunity to replace those 5,400 rpm drives with some Samsung SATA SSDs.
