Default Using Different asio ports for hardware inserts send and recieve?

Hi

I'm running PT Native with an RME/Alesis HD24xr and if I'm reading this right I won't be able to use the hardware inserts in PT.

My HD24's I/O has to be configured in pairs meaning the pairs can only be analog or digital not both. In cubase I set 1 and 2 to send and 3 and 4 to return and then freely assign them in Cubase. For example my first hardware insert would be 1 out and 3 in.

In PT it sounds like you have to use the same # port for sending and receiving for hardware inserts which would mean I'm basically screwed.

I hope I'm reading ts wrong can anyone verify?

Thanks
