And if they are, oh well.
It's not a public forum.
Avid owns it, pays for it, and can do as they please with it.

Someone doesn't always have to break specific rules to get banned. They may have just determined that he was being argumentative just for the sake of it, and injecting the same opinions over and over whether they were on topic or not.

Exactly, this is Avid's house, and we are visitors here.

Over the years the forum has been pretty tolerant of opinion. You have to really put some effort into getting banned, a time out or your posts censored or deleted. There have been some pretty spirited discussions. However most of them were constructive. This would be in direct contrast to Dave's posts. Most which had gotten to be non constructive and simply negative.

If he was banned or given a time out you can count on the fact he was almost certainly warned on several occasions first. I have nothing against Dave but I suspect that most of us are enjoying the peace and quiet and lack of confrontation.

All I know is that he's been warned through emails a couple of times by one of the head admins of all forums, for derailing the threads, his attitudes and other things. To speculate further is just non productive, so lets' get back on track with the subject of this thread?

Avid just indefinitely delayed their quarterly earnings declaration and is now being investigated by a legal firm specializing in "complex commercial and multi-party litigation, securities fraud and shareholder litigation, consumer protection, civil rights, and real estate."

These developments suggest to me that there is room to improve at Avid.

I've been using ProTools with various hardware on various platforms to perform various jobs since the system before the Mix system (can't even remember what the name of it was then.)

I like ProTools and I don't want to have to switch.

I don't think that defending this company against all criticism is useful at this time. In my opinion it's like helping an alcoholic hide the empties.

Let the insults begin.
