Default Saffire Pro 26 or Clarett 2Pre?

I will likely be in the market soon for a new interface. I've heard great things about Focusrite and their price range is just about right for my little project studio.

The question I have for my esteemed fellow DUC-ees is this: the new Clarett 2Pre looks very nice but for $150 less I can get a Saffire Pro 26. What would be the advantage of the Clarett over the Saffire? I know that Clarett is T-bolt but Saffire solves that with a FW to TB adapter.

Will the Clarett have better conversion than the Saffire?

Hello Brian,

The Clarett 2Pre has superior audio specifications, and latency performance.

Also:
- The Clarett not only has a new mic pre design, but you can also use AIR mode which models the transformer based ISA preamps
- The Clarett is 10 In / 4 Out (two mic pres) and the Saffire Pro 26 is 18-in/8 (four mics pres)

Please let us me know if you have any other questions between the two interfaces.

Thanks, Christian. I figured the Clarett would be a step up. Of course the first thing I have to do is get a new computer that can run more than four gigs of memory.
