Default Profire 2626 DAE or ASIO or CoreAudio

Any PT 9 users out there that can test the 2626 with either audio engine?

sound quality difference, CPU load, stability etc.

just wondering what's best, previously my profire worked way better in Reaper than PT.

Sorry to jump in but I would also be interested in this but with the Profire 610, particularly if stability of the profire has improved in PT9 using the new audio engine.

Sounds great - can you elaborate a little on this? What sample rate? Could you try 96K for all 24 inputs? How was the computer reacting? And, sorry of this is too off base, but I wonder if we can now use four 2626 units making it 32 inputs into pro tools 9 ????

I recorded at 48/24 using one PF2626 FireWire and the other two via ADAT.
PT9 enabled REC on all Audio Tracks. No buffer errors, no hiccups.

To answer the second part of your question the PF2626 caps out at 26 I/O, hence the name.
For 32 ins you might try the old M-Audio Pro Fire Lightbridge which is basically 4 ADAT inputs, but I suggest getting a Master Clock because those things don't have the best clock.

I see - thanks - still learning about the 2626 - I was wondering if maybe you had them set up in 'aggregate mode' - each connected via firewire and then therefore could push it to 96k... but I must be off base on that. Reading the 'what's new with PT 9' guess I'm a little confused about aggregate mode...

I see other posts related to this, so I'll keep my eyes peeled. If you have time to test aggregate mode, or enlighten us, let me know - even if you got two 2626 connected to firewire in and get 16 inputs at 96K, I'd find that valuable information....

i notice form other threads that avid hardware will not do aggregate connections, but am still learning about this. And of course one 2626 could SMUX into another for 16 inputs at 96K, right? Wizprodux - are you able to test that config for stability, etc?
