Advice from HD users who have Control 24
Are there any problems I should be aware of? I'm thinking of upgrading 2 systems up to HD2 and HD3 and I may purchase a Control 24. I would like to know that all is well and there are no "issues" before I make the jump.

Re: Advice from HD users who have Control 24
I'm currently using a C24 with an HD3 everyday for about 8 to 10 hours a day, with no issues, the overall performance compared to a Mix system is very satisfactory. I've finished roughly six mixes already with about 2 recalls per mix and the consensus is that the 2 mixes have considerably improved, but there are to many changes from old to new setup that could take a percentage of the credit so, here's the old setup,
One Mix+ /w 2 extra Mix Farms on a beige G3/300 mini tower with a SBS3 13 slot chassis, 888|24s, Pro Control etc.... New set up, New Control Room, same speakers (Yamaha, Quested, Genelec), HD3, three 192s, Control 24. I'm no authority on the matter but here's what I've run into, the C24 can use a contrast control (the manual says it's there is one but according to digi there isn't one and the manual shouldn't have had that printed), all your plug ins have to be upgraded so be sure to do all your homework and make sure that what ever your currently using has been ported to PTHD and if so, is there upgrade charges blah blah blah... finally the 192s don't SR on the output (I found this out by another DUC post) only on the input so you can't use the digital i/o for fx sends/returns of older fx processors running at higher sample rates, the fix as I know it is to either use the analog i/o (which sounds excellent) or get external boxes to do SR from the outputs to the inputs of what ever your going in into, a z-link96+ mini sample rate converter would do the trick. Good Luck MMJ P.S. I had a little run in with digi CS but they really came through for me. I wish for you the least hassle possible. |

Re: Advice from HD users who have Control 24
You'll have no issues at all. I replaced my mix4 rig with an hd4 system. Total plug and play as far as the C24 is concerned.
