Default Offline bounce means trouble...

Hi Guys,

Here's my findings with offline bounce:

Whenever I do an offline bounce, when the bounce is complete, Protools starts behaving buggy. In most cases I get the 'stop-play' button issue that results in the fact that I can no longer play audio on the timeline. (after pressing play protools immediately stops) The only way to cure this issue is a restart of Protools.
After an offline bounce it's impossible to shut down protools the proper way (it freezes)

If there is a fade at the end of the region, the resulting offline bounce always has a small portion of audio after the fade...

The volume of bounced files sometimes randomly changes (whole file)

Like many of you offline bounce was one of the major reasons for a fast upgrade to v11, but for me, sadly, it seems unusable...

Never hit the Play/stop on my HDX/Omni rig.
Nor a small portion of audio after the fade.
My selected time , √ import after bounce (Off-line√) and position at selected match.

As mentioned above (albee1952) also include versions otherwise is all guessing....

I have had similar since adding some new plug-ins.
Ozone 5 regular is one that i've stopped using temporarily to see.
Been offline bouncing with no crashes.
However I added Recabinet and it began again.
Yet on restart-of-app it does not happen.

I'm leaning more towards the auto-backup interval failing.
After crashing go to your session backup folder and check the time intervals.
Mine a always off (Pref setting for every 2 min, after crash there is 3-4 min from crash and previous BU.

Thanks for bringing this up.
T

PS I work at 32bit 44.1

My PT 11 crashes when trying to do an offline bounce of

4 mono audiotracks
1 stereo Ircam Flux reverb aux channel
1 stereo master track with Channel Strip, Pro Compressor and Fab Filter Pro-L.

3:30 of music cached from internal SATA drive in slot 2

96KHz/24bit BWF

Just found that Flux Ircam Verb is the culprit.
With that track deactivated the offline bounce works fine. Shame...

I just got caught with the offline bounce fade at end of bounce bug.. Aaaargh!
Between that and the laggy video playback when working to picture, I'll have to stick with 10HD a while longer me thinks.

Just off-line bounced a 5.1 mix (3 mono tracks with unveil and RX3 dialogue-denoiser and channel-strip, a stereo music and 2 revibes
). Result was half a frame (24.00fps based) early throughout.
I guess ADC has issues in off-line bounce.

Interestingly a bounce made with the same template but without unveil and RX3 is sync so maybe delay reporting issues with certain plugins.

Frank.
