Default can 2 instances of sample tank run simultaneously?

hi all,

trying to run sampletank in 2 tracks. one piano, one strings in m-powered.

no matter what input output settings i do, only the first instance plays (piano).

even when i have the strings track record enabled and not the piano track.

any advice?

thanks!

You don't need two instances.

Load the samples into two different channels in one instance. Then set the MIDI output channel on your MIDI/Instrument track to be the channel of the particular instrument you are trying to control.

thank you very much for the response.

but... although your suggestion works.... i can't figure out how i would record both piano and strings from sampletank onto one track, or why i would want to. they would both be controlled by the same slider, effects, etc. and that wont work.

thanks again for the help!!

If you are using the newest version of Pro Tools, you can route the outputs of each instrument to separate outputs on the plugin, and then select those plugin outputs as inputs on tracks.
