IMHO Pento vs Auro...

Tested them with some challenging material. Folded a 5.1 via Neyrinck ProLogic 2 encoded down mix. Auro was always fuller sounding.

Besides, can't shop at GC Pro. What a (Insert profanity HERE) company...Can I say that?

He is doing a pl2 down mix which will not cancel out with the original. Maybe the channel phase issues I heard every so often help in the pl2 downmix? I don't know. I never pl2 downmix anything. Always sounds funky to me. I just send a recluse itu downmix instead.

For those interested in Penteo, please buy from Protools-expert.com.

ADL have given exclusive US rights to Guitar Center, which includes, Musician's Friend. I personally will not do business with them.

Stereo Mix
LtRt Mix

Delivery requirements in my world.

Both sound fuller via Auro to me. Never had any rejections from QC. I guess it all depends on your composer.

Brandon,
Do you mean "Auromatic" , not automatic?
First off "Auromatic" is only for a Mac at this time and you're a
PC guy so I can see why you gravitate towards the others.
Just look at all the seasoned Mixers and their feedback on
"Auromatic" in the other posts, it looks like only you are saying
Penteo is better.

Personally I haven't tried Auromatic, as I don't need its z plane features or CPU overhead or additional cost.
But I am saying is for TV / DVD up mixing duties it performs very well indeed and it's down mixes are great. Bang for buck - it scores very highly. Ken Hahn (Syncspund)
Pete Horner (Skysound), Michael Babcock (Warners) Gary Sumers, Nigel Heath ( Hackenbacker), Mike Tthornton. (Pro-Tools-Expert) and Brandonmix and I all like it. Just sayin - it's not a collection of no- one's.

You can all make your own choice.

I test automatic on my mac extensively. It sounds great upmixed and downmixed. I absolutely worry about QC from ABC. Anyone here using this plug in for up mixing music for ABC? Those guys are so picky about phase coherence and automatic absolutely messes with the phase coherence of the upmix. Again, it sounds fantactic but I just don't think I want to chance QC issues.

We like(d) Penteo upmixing to 3 channels but had some issues with a PLll encode of a 5.1 channel upmix from the plug-in...
