Default Blue Cat MB-7 v2 Multiband Mixer

Just released and includes AAX64 format. This plugin splits the incoming signal into as many as 7 frequency bands and lets you mix them individually, with per-band stereo width controls. One of the more intriguing features is that you can load up to 4 VSTs per band! If you're using the AAX64 version of MB-7, then apparently you'll need to use 64-bit VSTs, or a bridge. Great intro price, too!

The multiband VST hosting is excellent!

To apply an effect across the entire signal, simply setup 1 band in MB-7.

MB-7 allows selection of the built-in VST settings for the hosted plug-in - this is a big improvement over Nomad Factory's VST hosting in Magma.

More specifically, this is MB-7 2.

The pre and post fader VST hosting is a great idea. The expandability or reduction is cool to. Can run it as a 2 band only if you wants to. But the RTA rocks on this. Right now though It seems there is no modifier to reset a parameter to 0.

Seems to be aax64 for PC only at the moment.

Would it be possible to host a VST instrument, do you think? All it would need is to support incoming MIDI...

Running perfectly in Pro Tools 11 on a Mac!

Haven't tried a VI yet...

First answer - not quite. There's aax 64 bit win and aax win which I would assume means aax 32 bit. There's actually a whole bunch of formats available. Look to the right of the main product page.

Second question - it will host vst instruments.

Note that I'm posting this on the basis of running it on the system in my sig file.

The price as someone said is killer as well - 40% off for those that own other Blue Cat products and 20% off for those that don't. Of course I got the 40% being an owner of previous Blue Cat products. One thing most people don't know is there plugs have no cpu load when no audio is running through them - they had that way before PT11 existed.

All it did for me was pull up the number entry dialog, then had to enter 0. Will have to check it again, or it could be a PC issue.

Would the VSTi audio not be filtered by the band it's inserted in?? Possibly set it to single channel and full bandwidth? Would have to check this.

Thank you guys for mentioning our plug-in! It can indeed host VSTis, even if it was not initially designed for that:multiband VSTi hosting has not been defined yet .
