Pro Tools shuts down when editing... HELP

It seems that if I try to save a session, PT closes. If I save a plug-in setting, PT closes down. If I click on my Hardware settings during playback, PT closes down.

I know I must have something out of whack, but I don't know where to start.


PT LE 6.4 (digi 002r)
2x HD 80GB|WD 7200RPM 8MB
MB ASUS A7V600 VIA KT600

Do you have a FireWire card to try instead of the built in FireWire on the motherboard? I highly recommend the Adaptec 4300.

If that could be my problem, then I will try it first. I believe that we installed a seperate firewire card when we built this unit, but I don't think it's even listed on the Digi compatability chart.

dude try reinstalling the 002 software!

Hey Doomin'... wassup with that phone of yours?
This started happening about 3 weeks ago, and I just upgraded to 6.4 (hoping it would take care of an issue or two). Anyway, I took the above advice (thanks by the way), and grabbed the adaptec fireconnect 4300. I'll drop it in tomorrow, and post results in the p.m.
