Default Plugins making protools crash

Hello everyone,

Recently, my protools hasn't been tolerant with my plugs...
Whenever i insert a plugin on an intrument track, protools crashes...

I log my log reports that i can share but it's a .crash (don't know how to open it)
I trashed my preferences. Didn't help.
My CPU is at 7% ish when protools crashes. I don't know what to do.
I used to have no problems at all with my plugins. (Arturia collection/ Waves plugins / Spectrasonics Omnisphere / Miroslav Philarmonik)

Please help. I can't create and i'm getting depressed...

Thank you all for your precious help!

Hi please try removing all the 3rd party plugins from PT folder and run a new session with only stuck plugins .

Thank you for your quick reply !

I uninstalled all my plugins except for the waves and the problem disappeared.

Why are my plugins not supported anymore from one day to another?? does that mean i'm never gonna be able to use these plugins ever again ?

I used to have like 15-20 tracks using different virtual instruments each without having any problems.

This is so sad...

Hi i can't respond for 3rd party plugins but , maybe one update broke you compatility or maybe its only a simple application error or file corrupted . Unistalling and reinstalling one at time can help you identify the culprit if any .

p.s.

The most of them uses ilok so remember to update ilok app too just in case .

I've had similar issues in the past when installing a plugin will, for no apparent reason, cause PT to crash. Usually its with a plugin I've used multiple times for a long time, not some new one. Sometimes, simply rebooting PT and re-opening the session will solve the problem. If not, I have found that creating a new session and then importing the session data from the original session will solve it. When importing that way, I do one track at a time. That helps me figure out what might be causing the problem if there's another crash.

I know these kinds of problems can be a real kill joy! Good luck.

PT10 on Win10 isn't supported. Not shure about PT11.

@DonaldM :

I tried with different sessions, new ones, existing ones. I don't think it's because my sessions are corrupted. Or it would mean that all of them are then.
A reboot doesn't help here unfortunately...
I'll make sure to try to import the session data.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for your help !

@Ben Jenssen : Not sure i understand your comment... I have Protools 10 on my laptop. It workes flawlessly. Same for PT11.

Instead of uninstalling all the 3rd party plugins just cut them from the plugin folder and put them in a folder in the desktop, then you can place then in groups of 5-10 and see where the crashes start. Then you can remove the last 5 and put them back one by one until you find the faulty AAX
