OS 9.0.4 versus 8.6
Is there any adavantages or disadvantages of running 9.0.4 versus 8.6 or vice versa with protools 5? I have a 9600.
Do older plugins still work with protools 5.0? Does the system software effect this?

I have a 9600/350 running OS 9.0 and PT 5. OS 9 was already intalled on the system when I got it. Very stable system. I have heard however (even from Digi CS people) that OS 8.6 may perform a bit better in the 9600s. This may be partly because OS 9 uses several times the ram of 8.6.
