Default S/PDIF - program that records?

Hi all,

I've got to transfer some DAT's to Wav's and I'm coming out of S/PDIF from a Panasonic DAT player into an Orpheus Prism.

The Orpheus is receiving the signal - no problems.

If I record into Pro Tools, then I have to 'Bounce' the track after it's played in, meaning twice as much time.

What Audio App's exist that accept an S/PDIF input?

I tried Twistedwave but it only recognises analogue outputs from the orpheus and not digital.

What are my options?

If the Orpheus shows up in core audio (sound preferences panel) then Audio Hijack Pro should be able to record the audio.

It is a very handy program to have in any case..

You may need to do some routing in the Orpheus maybe? I don't have access to such nice gear.. Or perhaps in Sound Preferences as well.

I thought that once you recorded it in PTLE, you could trim the regions, consolidate, then export them. Correct me if I am wrong.

Why? You don't need to bounce to get a track out of PT. You can export selected as file instead from the regions menu. Or you can use the keyboard shortcut Cmmd-shft-k to bring up the export window.
