Dae -7401

I had to reinstall two plugins. I have PT 10 express. It came with an M-Audio USB interface. When I try to bring either of them up, I get DAE - 7401. Is there a place I can look to see what this means or does anyone know. I have the same software installed on another computer with a full version of Pro Tools.

I found out what the issue is. Pro Tools needed to be run as administrator. That fixed the issue.

Bfearr. DAE errors are also causing me grief! So far I have not heard from anyone who can explain what causes them, not even in the manual! It's kind of like if Wednesday falls on Friday this week and it's a full moon, then stand on one foot and throw a pinch of salt over your left shoulder and they may go away! It's always the same old "trash preferences and data bases" or "help us help you". Yes, sometimes trashing prefs works temporarily but you can be sure that it will come back again! Hey Avid! How about an explanation for this "phenomenon" !

I was successful with my issue because I.K. Multimedia knew exactly what the issue is. Based on that, contact the tech support of the software company of the plugin. In my case, the email came back in 20 minutes and they knew exactly what the problem was.

I use Windows. Pro Tools was not running as an Administrator. All I had to do was right-click the PT icon and click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and that fixed everything.
