revoice still won't work with ARA in Logic 10.4.8

Synchro arts said Logic's ARA implementation is STILL broken.. i just spoke to them recently again. This is typical Logic.. it will never be fixed, you'll see. Apparently melodyne is not too bad with it now though.

ROFL at this stage, LUNA has less features than V1.0 of studio one.

Be realistic.

It's not even *close* to PT. Miles away. I watched every video shown today in full.

Anyway it is a WELCOME addition and if they (UA) keep the ”add-on” efx priced low it might be a contender to PT for us who use several Apollo interfaces. As the UAD-2 plugins range from 149-ish and up to $300 I woumd kot expect to pay more than maybe max $99 for the added efx as none of them will work as a ”plugin” outside Luna.

The normal UA plugins can be used in any DAW and thats why they are more money but these EFX ”plugs” wont work in PT or Live10 etc I expect them to be half price or less.

They said that the Tape Emu and the 3 VI was included but everyone in the demos are very vague on the Neve of emulation if it is a paid addon or included.
Neve is paid.

Don't want to be nitpicking here but just pointing out that for backwards compatibility no older version is "creating" anything from a newer session. It is always the responsibility of a newer version to create structures recognized by older versions.

Backward Compatibility: When sessions with folders are opened in Pro Tools versions earlier than 2020.R1, Routing Folders turn into AUX tracks, while Basic Folders are simply dropped. Nesting is flattened.

So technically not created, but converted.

"Normal" Track Folders - A container where you can stick tracks. You can route anything anywhere, and stick it in this type of folder so that you don't have to look at the individual tracks.

"Routing" Tracks (I think) (Logic calls the Summing Folder Tracks) - Similar to above, except that the Outputs of all of the Tracks contained within it are also routed to a common Aux, which is controlled by the fader for the "Folder Track".
Thanks, got it now (and retaining backwards compatibility is slick and important).

Where I thunk I got confused is Avid when talk about a “stem workflow”. When I think of stems, I think not just of an aux track to group together, but fx chains and then print tracks, which all require their own routing too. I guess you can put your relevant fx tracks in there also and then a nested 2nd folder of a print track, but then all your fx and print tracks are in different physical places which I’m not sure I like, but it might serve some workflows I guess.

Does anyone know how the folder tracks will behave on a control surface ? Will they fold and unfold on the control surface as they do on screen ?

Btw I really hope D-command and D-control will still work with this version...

Glad to finally see track folders. Looks like they did a nice job implementing them, but as always, we'll have to get it in our hands to know for sure.
