Default Thunderbolt interface, better performance?

Hi. I'm concidering a thunderbolt interface as i se them been on the marcet for a while. The prices seems to be at an affordable level these days too. I have just ugraded to PT 12.5 and it seems to work ok, but I still have some issues with Pt, (6101 errors) causing some problems. I use Mbox 3 with an usb 2 connection at the moment and wonder if a thunderbolt interface will run better with my system. I have also ugraded to El capitan.
Anyone that have experience with switching to faster interfaces?

I'm using an Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt with a MacBook Pro and it sounds good and works well.

I've sure heard a lot of great things about the Focusrite Clarett line of T-bolt interfaces. I'm seriously looking into one of those. If I'm feeling flush when the time comes to upgrade my interface I might go for the UAD Apollo Twin, also a T-bolt interface. There are a lot of good choices right now.

I personally would hold off a bit as expect that there will be a new apple this year and rumor is that they are moving away from TB so that might be worth it to wait. That said, I think USB 3 is plenty fast and much cheaper. Its still 5gb max throughput (specs - ymmv) and I have yet to ever tax mine to that point. If you make it ssd even faster. I believe TB drives are over priced and a niche market. I can see if if you are tracking huge projects in HD etc in a pro environment but for a home studio I dont think its worth the up charge. Tons of articles out there but here is a quick comparison and USB 3.1 supposedly is neck and neck with TB ver 1. Peter

That can be a real pane...

Clearly, your needs will dictate, but some of the bigger names in the biz I know are very happy with USB 2 integration from Antelope...

As a 2013 MacPro (6 TB ports) and a 2015 MBP (2 TB ports) owner I would sure love to see any links about Apple moving away from TB . Would make no sense to me...

Ahh - I see the link now... thats USBC connector with integrated TB 3. No worries...

I haven't really noticed that many USB 3 audio interfaces. I've been thinking about the Resident Audio T-4. http://www.residentaudio.com/ It's thunderbolt 2 and seems to be a very good price at $249. So give it up guys, where are all these cheap USB 3 or USB C interfaces. I'd love to have some others to compare with...
