Oh, sorry, I scanned over the responses too quickly. I see your problem now. You want Film Order and other applications are not recognizing it. Don't have a solution, or useful thought.

seems more like a problem of language, (as you see in the other answers) as i´m not native speaker i´m not the best in describing a problem..

The thing is the pt "film" format is not really a standard as far as I know. The most used standard is the smpte standard L,R,C,LFE,Ls,Rs.
Almost no other software but PT uses the film channel order natively.

Yes, the format you quote is the Microsoft default for a multichannel wav file. It's not the only thing that PT doesn't do the way the wav standards are set either.

I've experiment this issue too. Weekly, I have to export 7.1 wav files to be loaded in the broadcast system, Nexio (TV broadcaster). Doing this with PT 7/8/9 is ok, but impossible with PT 10. Nexio doesn't even recognize the file as a wav file anymore . Every file is the same length. They are usually about 7,500 kb. With PT 10, they are 8,100 kb. I don't know what is the difference inside the file. Different metadata maybe?

I also confirm that the order is changed when loaded in Avid, for example. Don't remember exactly, but I think the order is not changed when importing back in PT.

I think our PT dealer has open a ticket with Avid about that.

Our solution for now: stay with PT9...

How do you know your other software isn't importing it incorrectly? Do a search Blitz tone - it s a jolly clever ident system of tones based on Graham Haines (a BAFTA winning OB sound supervisor who taught me tons) Glits tone for stereo. I stick it on all my 5.1 stems to avoid ANY confusion. I am not running 10 yet so can't help with that scenario.

Avid unhelpfully uses non film order in media composer. Red herring.

soundminer, wave agent, wave editor, all importing it not correctly since i work with PT10.. well, could be that these software made up their minds since i installed PT10 and that they want to trick me. but honestly, i don´t think they are so clever..

yes, the same here, thats the most strange thing. opens wrong in every other software, or if imported into PT with soundminer, but if imported directly to PT its correct.
