Hey people,
Sorry about my last post, I noticed afterwards that there was a heap of posts on this topic. I basically did not read the pdf files and finally got XP running fine. But I do have another question. The PC I am running has it's own sound card. The driver for this has not yet been installed, since I did a fresh install of XP. But I do want to know if there is a way of playing cd's from my rom, or play other media types (using microsoft media player), thru the 001 so that the sound comes out my Mackie's?? At the moment, I get sound from any one of my PT files thru the 001, but nothing when playing a normal cd. In my sounds setup in the control panel, there is no audio device that is the default (yet I can still play and hear PT files), everything is greyed out. Is this why I can't get cd's playing thru the 001? I have installed the 001 drivers but they do not show up in the playback and recording options. Only in the midi. The PC is setup only for PT. Nothing Else. But it would be good to be able to reference cd's off my cd rom and hear them on the mackie's Thanks in advance guys!! Cheers SleezyWineBarZ |

Under Tools, Options, CD Audio, make sure you have digital playback selected.
(Win ME comment) In the Control Panel, make sure that the 001 is selected as the preferred playback device under Sound and Multimedia. Good luck, Mark |

That should work, but could also run audio cable from line or speaker out on soundcard into Digi001 inputs 3 and 4 and press monitor mode on front panel.

you may want to keep a shortcut to the XP mixer on your desktop to select Digi-001 as needed. On Windows 98se, with 001 selected, cds playback great with the rom drive. But if you have it selected and try to open Protools, it will give you an "IN_USE" error.
