Default 001 not outputing sound. Any idea\'s?

I've tried, three different computers, three different windows (xp,sp2)
I've even tried two different sets of hardware to make sure everything on the hardware
end is running smooth.
Which is the case.
Now something is wrong with the software.
If you have think of somthing to change in the BIOS, let me know
If you can think of somthing to change in PRO TOOLS let me know. anything. start from the basic's.
I plug in a line level signal. I get the signal to come up on audio track 1 through
mic input 1, the output is too main l/r (1/2) and I see the signal, it records, but I can't hear nothing. It's as if the signal is being routed somewhere else. it's very weird.
If you can think of anything to change in the control panal let me know please.
Pro Tools 5.3.1, Or 6.4 I have both. Can anyone think of a reason why maybe pro tools owuldn't work for some reason? it's all legite software with numbers. I have all the books.
what am I missing? routing within pro tools?

I am frustrated beyong belief with this, and I really need it to start working which is the
most frustrating thing.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for reading.

Yes, it could be defective hardware. You might need a new cable between the card and the rack, or the rack itself might be defective.

This was all mentioned in your other thread, though.

Setups-->I/O Setup-->Output--> Default. This should route audio output to line outs 1/2. Hope this helps.
