Default Rotary encoder resolution

Hi All!

Here's my question. I'm looking at moving from ProControl to a D-Command. One of my main issues with the PC is the fact that I am ALWAYS holding down the apple key to get a finer resolution on the encoder while tweaking an eq. Without it, there's just too wide a jump in between settings. Is this going to be an issue with the D-Command, or can I turn a knob and have some nice, fine control over parameters?

For example, I use the SSL E-Channel 99% of the time. Without the apple key, the finest resolution on the gain pots is 1db! Frequency and Q controls aren't a whole lot better in the way they jump around.

I just want finesse. Can I have it with D-Command?

Thanks for all your insights, whoever may respond.

You've got a few options for the rotary encoder resolution and indeed a fine resolution. I prefer normal resolution + apple key (if needed)

From the manual:
"The Rotary Encoder mode affects responsiveness of rotary en-
coder knobs. Fixed mode is at normal resolution. The velocity
modes set different rates of encoder acceleration. In Fine
mode, response is fixed and at fine resolution."

Cheers,
Bart
