Strange install problem MBOX 2 Mini + Pro Tools LE
Recently, my Pro Tools LE + Mbox 2 Mini system was running a little bit flakey, so I uninstalled it, along with all the plugins i had installed. Restarted, then as i tried to install again (plug in Mbox via USB port, tried several) my pc made 3 weird sequential chimes, you know the one you get when it recognizes a piece of hardware, but they were short and back to back. For some reason its not recognizing the interface and i have no green light either on the unit, so something is definitely going on. Never happened before.
Just so I have no redundant questions, I have uninstalled everything completely, drivers and all and restarted several times, still getting this problem every time i try to plug in my interface. My PC runs great, its pretty fresh (hard disk has been formatted awhile ago, everything is up to date) so I can't figure out what is causing this. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe manual uninstall something I am missing?? Thanks PC Specs: WinXP SP3 ASUS P5N-SLI mobo Intel Core 2 Duo E 7600 3 GHz CPU 3 GB (3x 1 GB) PC2-5300 memory 1x WD 250 GB SATA HDD (8 MB cache) 1x Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512 MB Video Card |

Re: Strange install problem MBOX 2 Mini + Pro Tools LE
"Running a bit flaky" is somewhat ambiguous, but I will venture a guess from your equipment list that you were recording to the system drive? You need a separate
dedicated audio drive for this to become 'un-flaky." |

Re: Strange install problem MBOX 2 Mini + Pro Tools LE
The hard drive observation is spot on.
Also running an Intel processor with a non-Intel chipset is known to be problematic with Pro Tools. What version of PT are you running? Have you allowed any Windows updates to creep in to the system?

Re: Strange install problem MBOX 2 Mini + Pro Tools LE
Hi there,
Does the Mbox 2 Mini show up at all in the Device Manager? If so, you may want to try the troubleshooting steps in this article for performing a manual driver install: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...river+manually Best of luck, |
