Feature request: BITC video plugin
Dear Avid (Jordan Glasgow in particular)
PLease can we have the timecode plugin from media composer available within protools? I am freelancing at a large broadcaster in London who has a lovely shiny new isis interplay for its tapeless working environment - but when longform HD material is ingested, it obviously has no super. The server generates a dvpal version for sd use, but we seem to be forced to use ltc timecode video inserters to get timecode in vision for the VO booths as the audio suites are using mojos (which rock in this all Avid environment). Its either that or create another whole render which seems senseless. Having a video timecode plugin such as the media composer would be great Any response? cheers

Re: Feature request: BITC video plugin
Mike that's a really good suggestion!
I don't want to derail the topic on the second post but is there software other than MC or FCP that will add on TC to a QT? |

Quote:
If it were to be a feature in PT it should only show the PT session time code, not various frame rate options that MC has, or at least force the operator to realize that he is looking at numbers that do not match his timeline. Also, a realtime burn becomes nearly useless when conforming existing audio+video to a new version. I would like to "lock" the displayed time to the video file, without having to export a new movie with a window burned into it.That way when edits are made in the timeline, the displayed numbers would jump just like they do now with a burned window. You should be able to display either the "locked" numbers or the timeline numbers. |

Re: Feature request: BITC video plugin
HI Postman
So you mean like a protools source or sequence timecode - yes that would really help re-conforms - or to shoe both and the offset would be nice... Thanks Frank for refreshing my soggy old Ram buffers! cheers
