Default Control surface

I have the Presonus Faderport controller and was wondering if anyone uses this with Pro Tools 12..If you do, how well does it work? If not, is there a controller you suggest? Sometimes I just get tired of using the mouse to adjust my gain on my tracks and having to use the mouse for other various things also

Default Control surface

I use faderport with 12.7 W10 and I don't know if there is something wrong with my faderport unit but the fader is sticky, almost like the motor is constantly engaged. When I move it, it seems to have resistance

Working fine here on 12.7. The new 8 fader version looks pretty stellar if you want more controls.

might be bad, or might need a better grounded circuit. I am guessing that the system is designed around capacitance touch? if so then yeah I would try a different electrical outlet.

The second I hooked my FaderPort up to Cubase, yes I use Cubase just for production and Pro Tools for engineering, the fader moved per channel I selected but afterwards made some weird noise

I use the Faderport 8 with PT.
I used to have the Artist Mix but sold it to get the Faderport. Unfortunately the Artist Mix was incompatible with Studio One which I use for some things so I moved to the Presonus.
t has a lot of nice features and integrates well with ProTools but I have noticed that it is a step down in quality. The faders feel imprecise and laggy. Also, you are stuck with the HUI protocol which is a fairly antiquated format.
You are limited to 4 characters for channel names which, for me, is a big drag.
Snare Take 1 becomes Sne1 etc.

Not convinced grounding will matter as the faderport uses an ungrounded wall wart. Maybe try another USB cable and/or port? Have you set it up under the Peripherals menu as a HUI device?

If the fader is capacitive touch activated try this - hand cream. Don't laugh - it works. One place where I used to work for antistatic protection everyone used wrist straps to a grounding block. Some days people would have problems with getting a good enough ground and we found out it was due to dry skin. A little hand or skin cream and problem solved. You don't need much.
