Default Trackballs or Mouse?

Wanting to know what everyone is using. I have a G3 still, so only have the ADB connection, but i just tried a Kensington Orbit trackball, and did not like it as much as a mouse. But my apple mouse is Killing my hand. Any suggestions?
(doing lots of editing)

On my PT system I'm using the Apple hocky-puck mouse. I've gotten used to it. On my computer I do everything else on, I have the new Apple Pro Mouse, the one with a laser beam instead of a ball. I love it. It works great on every surface except glass, which is unfortunate because my PT system is on a glass-topped table.

I tried a few track balls but found I like the mouse better. Some PTers like trackballs.

I use a mouse on some systems and trackball on others. I like a trackball when ever I am using an edit intensive program (Like PT) since it takes less wrist movement. A trackball takes a little while to get used to (as did a mouse when they first came out). Once you get the hang of a trackball a mouse seems like a silly waste of desk space.

( I've noticed that kids will use any pointing device with little or no learning curve, I guess we are all just old dogs).

I use neither. I use the Intuos Tablet and I'll never go back.

It's great for your wrist and you can make the side buttons switch temporarily to the zoom tool.

I use the eraser for undo

I've been using Kensington Trackballs for the last 4 years on PT, and it works incredibly well for me. I use the full-size Expert Mouse Pro right now. If you are going to use a trackball, make sure that it is a full-size one; the small thumb or finger-balls seem to lack a certain amount of precision when doing sample-level editing.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I LOVE my mini-optical mouse. It's much easier to grab than a hockey puck, and -- yes I am an old dog -- I find it much more familiar (comfortable) than a trackball. If you're going to use a mouse, optical is the only way to go. I never want to clean a rubber ball again in my life!

The new pro mouse is great, I use it at home.
At work I use a Kensington trackball. It's not as precise as the mouse, yet it has the advantage of programmable buttons to do all kinds of functions.

I like that.
