Default Tdm & pt 10?

I've been thinking about "upgrading" to PT 10, 10.3 from 7.4.2, it's a big jump, a bit pricey and apparently I don't get to keep my 7.4 license to fall back on.
I'm running a 2008 MacPro, 2 quad 2.8 ghz , 6 gigs ram with an Accel Core and Accel Process card. Has anyone here made that leap and how is it working out?

10 is cool especially if you have more TDM cards and 8 or 12 core MacPro

forget about 11 at least for now

not ready for prime time

Hey Russ M.
I'm running Pro Tools 10.3 on a MacPro Quad 2.66 Nehalem Early 20099, with OSX 10.6.8, HD6 Accel in a Magma PER64 Chassis with no issues whatsoever. It has been great for me.
However, I'm thinking about selling some guitars and purchasing a HDX Card and a 8x8x8 HD IO to try with PT 10 before making the PT HD11 jump.

Don't forget you also get the 11/10 license bundled so you can live at 10 while 11 is still cooking in the oven

Wouldn't it be better to buy PT11 right away, as the PT11 license also comes with PT10 so you can try them both.

Maybe, except that 11 will not work with any TDM hardware

That's why there's the 10 bundled in. You can try 11 with some other hardware (or with computer's built-in audio) and revert back to 10 to do some real work.

This is what is included in a PT10/11HD license bundle:

- PT 10
- PT 11
- PT 10 HD
- PT 11 HD

I have been considering making the jump to PTHD 10 from 8.1. I have used PT10 and tried PT11 native.

It's just a hard pill to swallow, shelling out 1500 bucks, not sure its worth it.
