Default G4 dual 800 to g5 dual 2.5: what is the benefit?

G4 dual 800 to g5 dual 2.5: what is the benefit? I have an HD1 and can get a good deal on the g5. How will I see improvments in my protools sessions? I use reason and sampletank sometimes.
