Default Prefs: Global MIDI Playback Offset....Question....

My ProTools engine runs at 128 samples, Sampletank Free induces a latency of 64 samples, so I´ve got 192 samples delay/offset to the audio click. When I then set the -192 samples under Windows>MIDI Track Offsets for the specific track the delay "compensation" works perfectly! BUT when I try to achieve this with the Global Midi Playback Parameter under Prefs, there´s absolutely no change (also tested with ridicolous 10000samples - no change!).

Now is this a known bug - or is this paramter meant to be for something else? Running 6.4 here.

wolfman,
Have you tried it with 'Low Latency Monitoring' off? (Global Midi offset that is).

Hi Roy,

yes I tried both (on/off) with no noticeable difference: Setting the individual track offset works but not the global offset.

Is there maybe some other parameter that has an influence on the global midi offset functionality?

Ken.

Did you get this sorted out?

Global MIDI Offset sets the offset at the midi interface. It will only affect hardware you have hooked up to the midi interface.

The individual midi track offset affects an individual midi track. Since you're using softsynths that do not go through the midi interface, the Global Midi Offset would have no effect on softsynths.
