digi 001 with 6.4..what OS??what will 10.3.9 work?

I have a dual 1 ghz G4..with 1.5 gig of ram..currently have 10.3.2 installed..have 6.4 last supported 001 software.what is the highsest version of panther that will work? I will need to run 10.3.9 to use some other applications..
and..although not supported by DIGI..can 6.?...6.7 or 6.9 work with the Digi 001? allowing me to run OS 10.3.9.. anybody have any experiences to share?

I have a 001 just like you and have been running 10.3.9 for months with no problems. It's funny I kept updating since I got OS 10.0 and didn't realize when I did that Digidesign didn't support it - meaning they just didn't run any extra diagnostics tests to just make sure everything checked out ok with it. Heck! Digi doesn't acknowledge the support of another PCI card for a video monitor running with it and I have been doing that for years. Sometimes it just works despite their best efforts.

I forgot to mention. I have Pro Tools 6.4 with a G-4 1.33 Ghz processor (upgraded from 867mghz) and everything works fine except evil Quick Time 7.

Works fine here, and YES stay away from QT 7.x!!!

Anything above 6.4cs9 will NOT work with the 001, neither will Tiger.

I can't believe there aren't more comments about this..the 001 with panther! thanks again my 2 friends that have responded...anyway..
does this mean we can assume all third party plugins will also run in 6.4 using 10.3.9??
plugs like IK multimedia and Mach Five.

Hi mindnoise... bassbuddy here ... Happy 4th...!!!

When I downloaded the 10.3.9 update, I could not use Quicktime 7 either. After researching, I downloaded back to 6.5 off the Apple download web page, OK.... but also ITune 4.9 is not opening on OS 10.3.9 either. Is there an other issue I am not aware of? Please enlighten me....( if you have experienced this problem).... or anyone.

I think Mindnoise got it right when saying nothing above 6.4 and 10.3.9 will work with the 001. It's safe to assume now that all new software products within apple using any audio outputs won't run on our 001's. So just be careful what new updates come along but keep what you have - if it ain't broke then don't try to break it with the new stuff!! And yes, all my plug-ins have been working fine for months, everything is in tip top shape.
