carbon pre headlamp control?

In Carbon Central make sure you have "Core Audio" ticked against each device you want to use for things other than Pro Tools. Then, as long as CC and Carbon itself are on, you will get the option in the MacOS Sounds control panel (or menu icon) for
Carbon | Expanded:Core Audio Primary
You can minimize CC but it has to be running, as does the interface itself.
It takes a good 30-45 seconds to register from first pressing the power button.

got it ! that worked I just had to go into sounds and change it to the carbon....

Waiting to hear back from sweet water in regards to the carbon pre control within pro tools.....

Hi,

My first post here. I have the Carbon and one Carbon Pre.

You should not check any boxes in the I/O for preamps.

I couldnt remotecontrol my preamps so I used that nifty free software that will trash all neccesary pref files and then after a restart of Pro Tools all preamp control was there again.

I didnt do a manual trash of the files. If you google ”Pro Tools trash pref software” you’ll find it. I can post the name of the software when Im in my studio.

Also for anyone who is interestwd Im on 2022.10 and the Carbon+Pre is the best and most rock solid Ive ever been on. Im on a M1 Pro Macbook and things are flying. I have zero problems/crashes and I have no problem recording 16 channels with DSP. Im buying a 2nd pre tomorrow.

so strange I just opened pro tools a few minutes ago and now it is working! I'll report back after using this system a bunch.

I will say the preamps do sound very good!

Remote control of Carbon pre-amps is within Pro Tools Mixer view, it just needs to be chosen to appear in the mixer (controls will show up on the mixer on each carbon input)

The question is (was) about preamp control on the Carbon Pre, not the Carbon.

...........stupid name choice for a product, IMHO.

Same answer: both Carbon and Carbon Pre remote control settings are on the Pro Tools Mixer. On the top bar menu choose "View -> Mix Window Views -> Mic Pre Amps" - it's the same for both Carbon and Carbon Pre.

Yes agin the user has choose to display the pre amp controls in the Mix window view
I only have Carbon but then it looks like this
