Default MIDI data copying question

Hello

I am sure this will be a simple thing I have missed (maybe an option somewhere) but I can't seem to work it out

I am using protools 8 LE

Here is the scenario.

I open a stereo inst track and a midi track. Insert addictive drums on the Inst track and draw all the midi data in I want. All fine

I then decide id like a different instrument to trigger the snare rather than the one in addictive drums.

I open a new stereo INST track and midi track. Insert my other drum program.
Now I copy the MIDI track (addictive drums one) and paste it onto my other drum program midi track.

Now when I delete all the midi data except the snare on the new drum program midi track it ALSO deletes it on the AD track ( the one I copied it from)

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It just appears that a common MIDI region will reflect the editing done in one of them.

What if you mute the unwanted MIDI notes rather than delete? Is that reflected in both tracks?

Thanks - I will give it a try

I have a feeling it is mirrored

is there no way to turn mirroring off?
