Default Thanks! Sandra Report

PTLE 8 not working so good on Win Vista. Getting CPU spikes.
Can't use hardly any plugins.

Did the usual tweaking, which usually doesn't do any good, and it proved
a waste once again.

I've learned it ether works or it doesn't......

Anyone had any luck w/the Creation Stations?

Dunno why it doesn't list it, but I use a SIIG firewire card. Digi approved chip set.

Thank God, I have a tech now, but I thought I'd get a head start
for him.

I've got a question; why Vista? Did the Creation Station come with Vista?

Just curious.

BTW,

That's the Siig card.

I also agree with Tom, we're going to need the full "Computer Overview" from Sandra. There's lots of NVidia stuff being listed there...

Were you inquiring about buying one?

That is definitely the WORST reason to use VISTA.
XP works much better where Pro Tools is concerned... do you want it to work? Or do you want it to look good? (there are those that will argue this fact, but it has been proven in trials that Pro Tools performance in XP is better than in Vista).

Did you have XP originally? Did you upgrade to Vista?

Mixing and matching memory brands/types like that might not be the best idea.

+1 on the mixed memory issue. If you are using any of the "pretty" features in Vista, you are stealing resource from PT.

Thanks spkguitar,
Yea, I fig'd I'd jump outta Vista and back to XP. Point well
taken, I want to work. 6.9 on single core Athlon win xp solid as rock.

I have SEVERAL computers that I do my work on here at the studio,
I'm in experimental mode right now........ and have a great tech
working w/me right now, I'm trying to get him familiar w/PTLE
so he can take care of this stuff, and I can WORK, and not
kill the MUSE. LOL

Yep, roger onthe "pretty".

I was thinking about buying a Creation Station Sweetwater Music

Did I answer all yr questions?

Peace
