6.4 002r session crashes 6.1.2 001 rig??
I probably missed something in the documentation somewhere, but here's my problem.
I recorded session's with my 002r on a P-book running Pt's version 6.4 and panther X.3.3,then brought them home and tried loading them on my desktop which is running a 001 with PT's version 6.1.2 and jaguar X.2.8 and it causes Pro Tools to "unexpectidly quit". I looked around in the documents but couldn't come up with anything. So do i need to update my desktop to panther and then PT's to 6.4???? Any thought's on this??.........Digi???

Re: 6.4 002r session crashes 6.1.2 001 rig??
Read Answerbase 26524 and do the trashing of prefs and databases.
Also see the 'General Troubleshooting' message at the top of each forum. Or do a search for 'unexpectedly quit'. Use the tools available to you to solve your problems more quickly. |

Re: 6.4 002r session crashes 6.1.2 001 rig??
Guess i should have said that i have gone through the entire troubleshooting section at the top of the forum, searched the answerbase, searched the DUC,and read as many documents related to these version of Pro Tools as i could.
I was hoping i missed something and someone could help me out. The sessions done on the 002r are not corrupt because i can open them on the 002r and PB setup. The problem starts when i try to open them on the 001 and P-mac. Thanks for your reply though.....................anyone else????

Re: 6.4 002r session crashes 6.1.2 001 rig??
Hi,
You may want to try using Import Session Data from under the File menu to import these tracks into a new empty session document. What kind of drive is the session on. In addition to preferences it can be a good idea to trash the Digidesign Databases folders on the root of all of your mounted volumes. Sometimes these databases can get corrupted and cause the sort of behavior. Post some more details about the kind of media you're using and how the session was moved from place to place. Thanks, Digidesign Tech Support |

Re: 6.4 002r session crashes 6.1.2 001 rig??
All the session are on a 120gig WD HD, 7200 rpm, inside a firewire case with a oxford 911 chipset.Properly setup as an HFS+ drive.
I've already trashed the folders you mentioned to no avail. Moving files would be a last ditch effort,if that is the case i may as well remove the 001 from my P-mac and just run the session through my 002r.I was hoping it wouldn't come to that because then everytime i do any location work i'll have to "unhook" ALL of my home studio equipment. My theory was; get a 002r/P-book and use the firewire drive for remote work and then when i got home just plug in the drive and run the session's on my desktop for the mixdown. I'll go through everything again for the hell of it........trashing prefs.,database folders, repair of permission, and so on.......i'll post if there are any breakthroughs. Thanks
