OT: DVD-R media for PowerBooks?
Hi. I know it's an off topic, but it's related to our kind of work. I know our machines only work with DVD-R media as blank DVDs, so I have bought them and used them before. This time I bought an unknown brand on Circuit City at an attractive price. It's ESA the brand name and it's labeled as DVD-R recordable disc multi-speed up to 8x, 4.7 GB, 120 minutes. This is the first time I buy media with up to 8x, so I am starting to guess that might be the problem? (My Mac has a 1x DVD burner).
Does any body knows something about it? Or at least where to search for what might be the issue, and what kind of media should I buy instead? I don't think they sell 1x media any more. I searched on the support side of apple.com and they only say DVD-R is the media we should use, not DVD+R, of course. By the way. The return error code from my Mac says: The Drive Reported an error Sense Key = MEDIUM error Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03 and the balnk DVD is not burnt I'm going to return them (if they let me to), but then I'm not sure what media should I buy instead. Any comment or link will be appreciated. Thanks, Alex

Re: OT: DVD-R media for PowerBooks?
Thanks, bee-man, but it is not my case. The link is related to Panasonic Superdrives that need to be updated, but it's not my case, my superdrive is Mat****a. The Apple page kindly sent me a link to, says Powerbook superdrives other than Panasonic don't need an update.
That one was really interesting, and I learned some stuff from it, but unfortunately doesn't offer me an answer to my problem. Any other idea or link to a related topic?
