midi malfunction on ProTools 10.0.1

Y am not able to make midi clips functioning. Surely isn't an hardware malfunction because the same midisong goes ok on Finale or Max6; computer is a Vaio Z with i7, 8 GB Ram, the midi interface is an ESI M8U XL hooked to an Yamaha TX81Z.What Y have to make?
