Default Stand-Alone OSX Drivers

At this point, I just want to be able to play audio through my Digidesign hardware in OSX.

So, if I purchase PT6, will I be able to play audio out my 192 interface in, say, ITunes?

I would have thought the answer would be an obvious "yes, of course!" but the fact that Digidesign says "stand-alone" drivers are not ready yet seems to suggest otherwise.

I've got the same question related to my AM III card.

I'm about to install 6.0 LE - we'll see what happens.

Best,
Rich

Well, it's no go. Can't get Apple OS X.2.3 to recognize the AM III card without having PT 6.0 launched.

OK, so now they've scrambled like madmen to get the software "cash cow" out the door, how about some drivers so the EXISTING customer base can use their hardware in the same ways they did before?

Between the omission and deafening silence on the Direct Connect issue, and the lack of drivers for the existing hardware base, it's looking more and more like PT 6.0 was a "cover your ass before it's too late" release.

Of course, I could be wrong....

Best,
Rich

Hello,

Our standalone OSX core audio drivers are not finished yet. Expected availability is scheduled for the end of Q1. They will be posted to our download section of the website.

Okay, today's April Fool's day. The end of Q1. We've waited patiently.

Where are the drivers?

Cool, Digidesign actually kept their word. A Digi engineer just emailed me with a URL to download the drivers here! Thanks Digi!!!
