Hey Matt - There was a great big long thread on just this topic that just strangely dissappeared from the DUC today. Basically, it pointed to the conclusion that Unity is pretty happening as an RTAS softsampler in OSX TDM . There's another thread, " OSX TDM Soft Samp Not Possible? " , thats also very helpfull - not to mention imformative. Good luck. You'll need it.

I think he is referring to Avid Unity FiberChannel Support for Avid video systems.

I haven't heard anything.

I too am wasting away in OS9 land. I have OSX on on another partition of my drive and I have successfully crashed the Unity several times trying to use it. We just upgraded our Media Composers to Adrenalines and Unity 3.4. When I asked the Avid rep about PT support for OSX he indicated that Digi is miffed at Apple over the purchase of Logic and that Digi was in no hurry to add Unity support for OSX.

I'm not an IT guy but I dont see how you can playback 1:1 video and 8 channels of audio through an Avid over fiber channel but you can't playback 16 or 24 channels of Audio thorugh ProTools over the same fiber????

How about it Digi, can we please have some info on this? It would be nice to be able to use OSX here at the studio before the show goes off the air.
