Tracking in Stereo
I know that tracking in stereo decreases the total amount of tracks we can use on a 24 track system, but what are the advantages doing so. Would it sound better to record drums in stereo, as aposed to mono?

Re: Tracking in Stereo
i record all live guitars and vocals in stereo - especially vocals.....
i;ve never done drums in stereo - i use 5 mics - omnis on the rack and floor to get the drums and cymbals...directional on the kick an sm57 on the top of my snare, and a crappy omni under my snare ( i only use the crappy mic because it's all i have right now) but anyways - my drums sound pretty good with that setup.... |
