Just wondering if I can run Blue Cat Audio Patchwork to host VST plugins in Pro Tools 8LE?

Nope. That's designed to host 64-bit VST into 64bit AAX. You need something to host 32-bit VST into an RTAS environment, where the Fxpansion wrapper will do a fine job.

I have read about FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper,would DDMF Metaplugin do the same?

(Yet to read anything about that particular one yet)

Not so fast. Blue Cat has 32-bit AAX, DX, RTAS, and VST versions of Patchwork. Barring any bugginess, the RTAS version should work just fine in LE 8.
