3rd Party Firewire Mixers
Has anyone been able to use a 3rd party firewire mixer with Pro Tools? I am looking at either a Mackie Onyx, an Alesis MultiMix, or Phonic Helix. These mixers are able to record all channels at once (up to 18) through firewire to other vendors' recording software. Will any of these interface with Pro Tools? If not, is there another 3rd party product that can interface the two?

If you are looking to maximize inputs to Pro Tools, it's possible to record 18 inputs at once with the 002/002r and even the 001 with the proper external hardware. A How To.
