i haul my system out to the garage and use the air compressor! I don't have time for those little cans to blow some surface dust off and into my other gear!!! ;-)

You need to be VERY careful with an air compressor due to the pressure and also the fact that there is water in the air. I only ever use mine to blow the exterior, never inside a unit.

Those small cans, whilst being a rip off, don't normally have that issue and are designed to be used inside cases etc.

Just an FYI. Would hate for you to accidentally damage your gear.

Moisture I live in the desert! and don't store the compressor pressured. Even the cheapest compressors have valves to control the pressure. After 20 years and far more systems than I could count, I think I am ok

Hanging that little evergreen tree air freshner in the front intake fan makes all the difference!

Pressure and water in the air are only a problem if you don't have a moisture trap and a regulator. If that system is used with any kind of airbrush then you will have those already (or should have). The problem with some of those cans is the air can come out super cold if they still use the old freon propellant.

And don't turn compressed air cans upside down! You will spray liquid all over your equipment! If it happens, don't freak. Make sure everything is unplugged (which it should be before you even consider cleaning) and let it set for a couple hours or more if you really doused it. The liquid drys very quickly, but be safe and let it set for a few hours.

I don't know how many times someone has wrote me and said, "Bro, I used the compressed air like you said but I turned it upside down and sprayed liquid all over my board!"

Uh...yeah...which is why I specifically told you "DON'T TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN!"
