Default 11R killing PT

Hey guys. Having some serious 11R problems tonight.

Pro Tools 10
Late 2009 27" iMac
OS X 10.7.2
2.8Ghz i7
4GB RAM

I use my 11R as my main audio interface at home and when recording guitar. Tonight I went to open PT and the following happens.

When I open Pro Tools with the 11R plugged in and switched on I get this message

If I click ok and then try and create a new session I get the same message. if I try to open a recent session I get this

I then went to the playback engine and received

So obviously, I tried to change the H/W Buffer size

Bit hard when it isn't there

Eleven Rack options in System Preferences looks normal to me

"Avid Eleven Rack" Doesn't show up as an Audio input/output option in the sound menu of system preferences ( it did up until tonight) and if I try to swap the playback engine to my Line 6 UX2, Pro Tools freezes and I have to force quit.

PT starts up fine without 11R switched on and can use other interfaces.

I can live with using my UX2 for now. But I've gotta get this sorted cause I love this orange rimmed thing.

Thanks in advance.

I think the best thing to try first, is to install the 11 Drivers again. - seems like something has knocked them about a bit.
Can check the system menu on the 11R and see what the clock source is set too. but I doubt its that as the control pannel is fine...

Good luck, maybe someoe else with better mac knowledge will be able to help better!.
Cheers
A

*sigh*

Now I seem like a total noob. Restarted my machine after posting this and it's working fine. Sorry about that.

Still. It was a WEIRD issue and I'd like to know if anyone has come across it before?

It makes sense if you leave your computer on all the time and you have things like Screen saver, Hibernate, Sleep ect.... active.

Avid has always recommended a Full Power/High Power scheme. Turn off all sleep and suspend functions and turn off all power saving features of your OS.

You can see the OSX optimizations here:
