Default PT12.8 Forgetting Playback Engine

Hey everyone,

Just posting to see if anyone else is experiencing this, or whether it's my system at fault.

Since 12.8 i've been experiencing PT forgetting my previously used Playback Engine.

For instance, I save and close a session - on next launch I have to go and change Playback Engine back to what it was.

Doesn't make a huge difference to my workflow. Just something I noticed and wanted to get feedback on before I trashed prefs and associated files.

You know I was thinking of getting my yearly subscription back going but man after reading through all these Pro Tools 12 topics/posts I don't know if I am ready to deal with the headaches.

It sure appears Avid has gone backwards instead of forward. Is the problem Avid releasing bug fixes which in turn is creating more bugs? Or, are they adding new features which is creating a heck of a lot of bugs?

Also I a curious are the programmers at Avid even musicians? Unless they are they will never be able to connect to what exactly what is needed in Pro Tools and there will always be all kinds of bugs/glitches. Yes Human Error is in every application but reading all these topics/posts is sure appears Avid is going in the wrong direction.

I don't know, maybe I will look in ProSonus or another DAW for now, I just don't know.
