Default crossgrade price for Europe is extremely unfair

I bought PT9 today in the german store and had to see that they simply one on one take the Dollar price in Euros. This is 73 € more than the US people had to pay. That is not ok and I am very discontented. Delay compensation for 250 € is quite expensive. Money makes the world go round.

Hi,

Each country has its own currency conversion rate unfortunately!

Shame the US digi store doesn't accept paypal

I do agree with you.
I live in Norway and the prices are so different, and I mean come on! they don't ship it.
You can just download it.
The biggest stores in Norway sell the standalone version for 940$ and the upgrade from LE for 400$
But hey! someone has to keep the company up and running.
(Apple Norway sell their cheapest MBP model for 1800$) YEEEEEEEEAAAAAHH!

Yeah, it pretty insane that they still use the 1:1 ratio!
In countries that have the euro currency, we have to €100 MORE than what it's actually worth!!! That's $491 converted back...

This "upgrade" is TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY at the moment, especially if you're an HD user living in Europe.

Sorry Avid, you're doing a GREAT job so far, but this a little insane, don't you agree?

On the other hand, I would've forked it over if PT9 was 64bit or that it gave me the opportunity to ADD DIFFERENT I/O devices to my current HD setup, even if it was just an Mbox... just sayin'...

I would appreciate if AVID could fix their PAYPAL services for us in Europe. I mean hello! Even the smallest companies have PAYPAL. I have already paid for the update IN EUROs! BTW!

So if they are going to lower the prices then I would really appreciate refund as in getting HEAT for free.

(I remember walking into restaurant in Cali, where I could choose to either pay 5 dollars or 5 euros to use their toilet) but anyway anyhow! Great update!

Come monday, I would very much like to see a comment from Avid marketing department on this one. The are very much up to par and I'm sure they have some kind of motivation, apart from customs fee and VAT...?

This thread is NOT about the value of the software or the quality of the new features, this is simply a thread about currancies. I live in Sweden and for some reason Avid thinks that we have the Euro - strange, my government says otherwise...

What is so very different in Europe than in the US regarding payment for this software, that Avid as a company need this kind of compensation?

Hi,

Yes but people in Europe cannot buy from the US digi store!

I have always bought my software in dollars in the past! but now there's a restriction in place. I have purchased from loads of US companies and their products and paid with paypal, so don't know why Avid don't!!!!!
