Installing MPTK2 for use in PT9
I installed PT9 on an iMac that hadn't had any version of PT on it before now (I used PT8 on another computer). I tried to install Music Production Toolkit 2 so I could use Eleven LE and Hybrid, etc., on this system, but the installer says it requires an existing install of PTLE (and a Digi interface, if I remember right). I'm currently using an Apogee Duet on this machine.
Is there any way to use my MPTK2 license without having to install PTLE 8 and the associated drivers, etc.? I'd like to keep this system as lean as possible. I haven't found any info on this yet. Thank you. And thank you, Avid, for what looks like a fantastic upgrade. |

Re: Installing MPTK2 for use in PT9
I copied the plug-ins from the PT8 drive and placed them in the PT9 drive and all is well. Both the plug-ins folder and the plug-in settings folder.

Re: Installing MPTK2 for use in PT9
I ran into the same issue.
Just download the Music Production Toolkit, then once it mounts as a disc image, right click (or control + click) on "Install Music Production Toolkit 2.mpkg" and select "Show Package Contents" then go to: Contents>Packages you'll see the individual installers! Show Package Contents, and using individual installers worked perfect and it linked up with the iLok license with no trouble. Thank you again for the tip.

Re: Installing MPTK2 for use in PT9
Hey Tom: I would have tried your method first, but I didn't have access to the other computer at the time. But now that I got it back on the network, what DID work was copying my Komplete 7 RTAS plugins from the PT8 system to the PT9 system, so I didn't have to re-run the Komplete installers (I already had the AU and VST versions of Komplete 7 authorized on the PT9 system). Huge time-saver! So thank you for the idea.
