Default Mixing Tips - 2 Guitars..only 1 usable... solutions?!?!

Hey guys. I'm working with some tracks where the guitar was recorded with 2 mics and then panned hard left and right. Well, the right side doesn't sound too hot.

What do you guys usually do in this situation? Just looking for some cool ideas.
Should i just duplicate the first track and then do a few tonaly changes to make up for that or do you guys have any other ideas?
Thanks.
Bob

zillions of possibilities, may I suggest:

"Good" track:
pan near center (say 30%left)
higher mix level than "bad" track

"Bad" track:
pan hard right (85 or 100%)
washy reverb or slapback delay or bizarre EQ or...

Two ways of doing it:

1) Find parts of the guitar part that are the same, copy them over to a second track so that the second pass of the same part is on the right while the first is on the left, etc

2) Use a s*at** *h**e sh**te* to generate a **** signal for a fat balanced stereo image - NOBODY does this, and it sounds awesome

Seeems pretty obvious to me: Don't use the bad track.
As far as panning goes, that is dependant on the panning of the remaining instrumentation.

If the guitar player played through the whole song (as in you didn't dupe verses/choruses over) take the second verse and copy it on a new track lined up with the first verse. This will pefectly emulate the guitar player playing the part two different times. Just do that over the whole song. If there's only one bridge or something then be creative with panning or different tone or whatever. This will work best if the song was to a click. If it wasn't, i don't know what to tell ya.....

Again with that, Regis?

I'm not familiar with that if it's a code.

As where02190 said (in other words): Go to Region bin (locate bad track, highlight)->pop up menu ->Clear selected track->Dialogue window: clic Delete.
Mono can be nice when panned properly.

Or : locate your guitar player->highlight him->kick him in the ass (the ****s will also do)-> tell him to play that guitar track again...properly this time...

Regis..
I do that move often. I even made a big deal about it a few months ago on the DUC. I called my secret thickening agent.
