Intermittent high pitch audio glitch dropouts with HD Native
Hi all,
I'm getting these strange glitches once every few minutes when I record with one guitar track with a stock amp modeler at a buffer of 32 or 64 samples. I know it's a low buffer size but I feel my computer should be able to handle it and I like to go this low for live recording. https://soundcloud.com/driftlikeclouds/glitches Based off listening, has anybody heard these? I've followed all the steps from the Windows 10 optimizatoin guide. i7 3930k hexcore processor, 32GB PC6400 RAM, P9X79 WS motherboard, HD Native IO, Windows 10 Thanks! |

Re: Intermittent high pitch audio glitch dropouts with HD Native
doesn't the Win10 setup/optimization say not to use 32 buffer due to driver issues?

Re: Intermittent high pitch audio glitch dropouts with HD Native
Indeed, I almost never use 32, but the 64 setting works great here with 60-70 tracks going. My rig is similar but for Windows 7. One thing that made a big improvement; In Pro tools, go to Setup>Playback Engine and look at the Cache size. If its on Normal, try changing it to 8-10GB. There is some discussion going on as to what the "Normal" setting actually is. Some say its no cache(which is NOT what you want)
